A frequently recurring issue, especially for large files.
A solution is drop.io which allows to create file sharing up to 100 MB with a custom url in the form http://drop.io/custom. Drops have their own e-mail address and teleconferencing number. Promising as an instrument, but not an adopted tool for this team, not a tool in evaluation. Use at your discretion.

I’m using Google Analytics since 1 month to monitor the Spanish Chapter. I’ve seen how many visits came from the term “factor de potencia” (power factor) in Wikipedia. It seems that someone introduced a reference to our PQ Guide, which generated many visits.
I decided then to insert some more references in terms like “termografía” or “fotovoltaica”. And it worked!
So, blog managers, take this into account and dedicate 1 hour per week to introduce some LE references in the Wikipedia world (existing terms).

A nice deployment option for Zoomerang is by e-mail rather than via weblink.
Zoomerang allows to create mailing lists to send survey invitations. It keeps track of who responded, and allows sending reminders to those who haven’t, thereby potentially boosting response rates.
We’ll try this system for ECI’s newsletter survey next week, and will see how it goes.

Google custom search allows you to create vertical search engines, focussing on specific topics. You can shortlist sites to be searched, and results will be either limited to these sites, or the shortlisted sites will be prioritised in the search result.

So far, 9 websites have been listed (LE, IEA, ECEEE, ACEEE, ASE, …). Comments welcome which sites we should add. Also some feedback on testing the engine is welcome.
