LPQIVES agreed to transfer the content of modules to e-learning

The final division of work is the following:

M04 Overvoltages and Transients SIER
M05 Reliability of electricity supply ECD
M06 Earthing systems Politechnika Wroclawska (Antoni)
M07 The influence of static converters on the supply network CITCEA (Andreas and Mircea)
M08 Compensation of reactive power. Voltage and current unbalance North West University – RSA (Johan Rens as main responsibility, Zbigniew will help in equipment issues)
M09 Distributed Energy Sources and Power Quality. Energy storage systems University of Magdeburg
M10 Utility Package (Frequency variations. Quality of supply in the electricity market. DSM. Tariffs and power quality. Rational use of energy) AGH  (Roman will help)

The work deliverables consist of:

  • Power Point presentation indicatively not exceeding 300 slides per module.
  • Slides should be accompanied by scripts – Word document of ~ 1000 characters (~150 words) per slide.

The content and the format have been extensively discussed on LPQI # 32 Meeting

Delivery
M01 and M02 are due by February 2009
M03-M10 are expected by June 2009

Specification

  • Ppt slides (steps) – divided into ~20-30 step lessons (submodules of approx. 1 hour activity) – blank template
  • Scripts in Word.doc
  • Allowed teaching tools:
    - Glossary
    - Test – multiple choice questions
    - Forum which is additional interactive element which requires template, a kind of questionnaire to moderate feeds
    - Case – assignment of task
    - Animation
  • Above mentioned techniques need a kind of course teacher who will use them. In fact there are no limitations from elearning platform to integrate any commonly used format; animations (e.g. flash), video (MP4) and webcasts.
  • Use as much graphical illustration and metaphors, as possible.
  • Avoid large blocks of text. If absolutely required use links to web published documents or pdf’s.
  • Avoid commercial references and country specific issues (eg. standards).
  • Target clarity thru simplicity. Think about purpose and user.
  • Before production of slides set up course objective, assessment technique, course design, make syllabus description – you may use moodle or dokeos
